There were 5 students or 5 group from each section of VIII. Totally there were 15 students %2F group from class VIII. This activity was judged by senior Science Teacher. Students came up with different working models, they explained their models and showed them to other students as well as judges. According to this they were given marks. After this session we realized that students were motivated to bring up their hidden talents in field of science. It was a really great experience for all of us. |

"Make a Drug Free World" - An initiative taken by Ursuline Convent Senior Secondary School, Greater Noida for the students to educate them on drug abuse - awareness and prevention. Today, the school organized an awareness programme on drug abuse to acquaint the students with the hazards of drug addiction and its prevention. Mr. C. The event was conducted by the students of Class I to IV. The function kicked off with a speech welcoming the workers and non-teaching staff and acknowledging their hardwork. The students showed their gratitude by giving cards and flowers to them. Lighting the lamp by the Principal, Sr. Gracy Joseph, and workers marked the beginning of the programme, followed by Class III students giving a brief history on Labours Day. The students of Class III and IV showcased their skills by reciting a poem and a melodious group song respectively. The students of Class II mesmerized the audience with their magnificent dance skills. School Principal congratulated the workers and thanked them for their selfless service. Through her message, she instilled in the students the importance of them in the society. For smooth running of any institution their contribution is priceless. They suffer due to lack of accessibility, availability of basic services so Ursuline Convent Senior Secondary School and Nirmala Sadan society?s sisters of sector 36, Greater Noida distributed 5200 food packets to daily wages workers with the help of local administration and Police officials. Ursuline Sisters distributed dry ration, which includes 10kg rice, 5kg sugar, 2kg dal and Chana, 1 litre oil along with hand made masks to 1100 families from Aichhar village, Nat madia village and sector 36. The U.M.I sisters made sure that all the families could get their share under their supervision .They also gave hand made masks for vendors in B-block (fruit and vegetable sellers) from Tughalpur. The session was segregated into three segments- 1. Hormonal changes 2. My personal hygiene is my responsibility. 3. Understanding the difference between good touch and bad touch. All the three segments were well explained through slides and personal interaction with girls. Girls enjoyed throughout the session and also showed interest to share their views on the same. Session was conducted by Mrs. Reena Srivastava and Mrs. Jayanthi Michael. It was a mesmerizing session and it ended up with lot of fun and was also a platform for girls to clear all their queries that they face during their growing phase. |

Ursuline Convent Sr. Sec. School, Greater Noida conducted a workshop for the girls of class VIII-IX on Menstrual Awareness and Hygiene on 20th May, 2022. The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Poonam Verma and Ms. Anjali Naithani. Menstruation is a natural part of the reproductive cycle. However, in most parts of the world, it remains a taboo and is rarely talked about. Girls and women need to maintain good menstrual hygiene to uphold their health and dignity. They explained the same in very simplistic terms and with lots of activities. During the workshop, the students were told about the science behind menstruation and the myths surrounding it. The girls were also taught basic hygiene that should be maintained during periods. It helped in sensitising them on various complications arising out of lack of menstrual hygiene. In the end, a question-answer round was also conducted. |

The organisation SPACE INDIA in association with NASA gave the opportunity to students to select special latitude and longitude and forward it to the International Space Station astronauts to record pictures. Those pictures are far better than Google Maps. This was followed by a Query session wherein all the students were given the opportunity to ask curious questions related to astronomy. After this, they were shown a real-life telescope and a prototype of a real comet. The students also launched a rocket based on the hydraulic principle. It was indeed an enriching experience for our students. |

Classes IX and X enacted a famous speech by any Freedom Fighter during the Indian Freedom Struggle. The enthusiasm and the energy of the students could be felt on stage. The confidence level of each participant depicted the amount of practice they had put in to reach that perfection. Classes XI and XII performed on a famous speech delivered by any character in a play or theatre. The judges and the audience could feel the zeal and enthusiasm of the participants on stage. Each participant who represented their respective houses made sure that the presentation given was to the best of their ability. All the performances put the stage on fire and attracted the audiences' loud applause. Together we thrive : Jubilee Food Drive 03.08.2024, Greater Noida: In a philanthropic initiative to mark their silver jubilee, Ursuline Convent School organized a food drive at Labour Chowk on 03rd August 2024. The drive was aimed at providing food to the daily-wage workers and their families by giving them necessary food items. The Students of Class X along with the supporting staff members came together to distribute bread and fresh fruits to the labourers, who gathered at the labour chowk in search of work. The school community displayed great enthusiasm and generosity for this charitable act. The Principal, [Rev.Sr.Rekha Punia], emphasized the importance of community service and expressed pride in the students' involvement.”As we celebrate 25 years of our institution, we wanted to give back to the community that has supported us. The function commenced with the Lighting of the lamp. Ursuline family extended a warm welcome to the parents and grandparents, the tiny tots who became a part of the institution. Our Principal Sr. Rekha conducted a special session for the parents. She discussed the development stages of children between 3 and 5 years old. Even more importantly, she shared some great tips on how we can guide our children to help them reach their full potential during this crucial time. Our Kindergarten teacher introduced the parents with the rules and regulations of the school, after which little kids were led to the world of letters by writing the first letter in the tray of rice grains by Sisters. Students from Nursery to Class XII were part of this proud occasion, the class-wise toppers were honoured for their staunch dedication. A moment of special honour was the presence of our Chief Guests, Mr. Devender and Mrs. Hemlata Bansal, proud parents of Mihir Bansal. The ceremony glowed brighter as we celebrated our school toppers—Mihir Bansal of Class XII, who achieved a remarkable 98.8%, and Yugank of Class X, who stood tall with an extraordinary 99%.
